The cartouche was originally an exclusive piece of jewelry worn only by the Egyptian Pharaoh; it bore the ancient ruler's sacred name upon it and was worn as a symbol of good luck and protection from evil. Inspired by this idea, I chose to honor the simple beach pebble with a trio of emblems to keep us connected to a specific idea, inscribed on the reverse side.
