Design Inspiration
It began with a travel documentary in Capri…
…and ended up on the Aegean Sea, bobbing merrily along the azure water strikingly set against the backdrop of stark white walls, crisp pops of color, the shadows at play among the architecture so distinctive to the Cyclades. Whitewashed houses, blue-domed buildings and textures of volcanic dust, pumice and red rock dot the landscape, creating arresting facades.
This was where the idea was born for the next collection release. My inspiration comes from images seen here to the left and so many more. The sketchbook is littered with whispers of ancient Greek design, ceramic tiles, graphic patterns and bold floral and fruit laden textiles, reminiscent of the influences of nearby Italy.
For the first time, I will introduce vitreous glass enamel into my work to capture the feeling so easily imparted by imagery from this Mediterranean paradise. Each of the pieces in the collection will be one-of-a-kind and limited edition, featuring juicy gemstones, hints of gold, and recycled sterling silver, all with the exacting detail and quality I demand of my own work.
